Fraserburgh
Indoor Bowling Club was established on the 3rd February 1990. The stadium
holds 6 rinks and the carpet is supplied by Greengauge.

There are many
club competitions including: singles, pairs, 2-bowl pairs, triples, 2-bowl
triples and rinks. These games take place throughout the season both in
the afternoons and in the evenings, There are also hat games for you to
play in which take place on:

Tuesdays -
10:00am-12:00 & 6:30pm-8:30pm

Wednesdays
- 2:00pm-4:00pm
-
Saturdays
- 6:30pm-8:30pm
Over the years
the club has had some success in the CIS leagues. The Gents team have been
Division 2 Champions in 1998, 2001, 2004 & 2006. The Ladies team were
the League Champions in 2004 & 2006 and finally the Senior Ladies team
were the League Champions in 2004.
The Juniors of
the club have also been quite successful as already 9 Juniors have played
for the Gents CIS team. 4 Juniors have qualified for the "Richard
Corsie Challenge" finals and 2 have qualified for the "School of
Excellence" finals. Also in the SYIBA, Triples and Pairs teams have
qualified for the finals with the Triples team reaching the final of the
finals three years in a row but have came Runner-Up all three times.
Finally 2 Juniors have had trials for the Scottish U25 team.
Want
to have a game?
We can
organise tuition classes for groups of people who are interested in trying
out the sport. We also have classes for youngsters after school on Wednesdays.
Social Members may play in hats or friendlies, so why not have a try?
Internationalist
Also, the late
David Heddle MBE played at several Paralympic Games and Commonwealth Games
and has won Gold & Silver Medals.
For the Season
2008/09, the Club President is Jock Fowlie and the Vice-President is
George Forbes.
